Dr D'ippolito completed his initial medical education in Italy and began working at a Consultant level for the NHS in 2007. He is a 'double board certified' Dermatologist holding both the EU and UK equivalent Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training; he is on the GMC Specialist Register of Dermatology. Also his European CCST includes Venereology which adds an extra dimension to his work in the area of male genital skin problems.
He is a lead member of a widely respected team at Frimley Park Hospital, which is the only hospital in the UK to have been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission – standards which are maintained through rigorous and regular peer review.
At Frimley Park he works closely with many specialties (general surgeons, ENT surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, radiologists) to develop the therapeutic plans for patients affected by any type of skin diseases, including skin cancer such as melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. Skin cancer is in fact one of his special interests. Dr D'ippolito holds the position of Lead of Skin Cancer Services at Frimley Park Hospital as well as being Lead Clinician for Male Genital Dermatoses and lead clinician for skin allergy service (patch test).
He is also closely involved with the training and education of other hospital doctors and General Practitioners in the field of Dermatology.
In addition to his work for the NHS, Dr D'ippolito's private practice covers the full range of dermatological conditions and extends into several areas that are not always provided for under the NHS. This includes 'excessive sweating' which is certainly not seen as a minor or merely cosmetic problem for those trying to live with the condition. Which, incidentally, can be easily and effectively treated.
He also conducts minor and cosmetic surgery, to remove benign and malignant (cancerous) lesions including moles, cysts, skin tags, skin cancer, skin warts, adopting the best surgical techniques to minimise scarring etc.
For those wishing to minimise the signs of ageing, he offers aesthetic facial Botox treatments with the added reassurance that they are being given by an NHS Consultant Dermatologist who really understands the skin in its anatomy and care.
Married with two children, he lives in southwest London. His Private Practices are at Frimley Park Hospital (Parkside Suite) and at 152 Harley Street in Marylebone, London.
